For this piece, I wanted to emphasize Srillex’s gravitational energy while blending in his humble demeanor. My vision was to create a space theme based-off his Bangarang Tour, in which he performed on a space influenced stage. My first attempts reflected a music festival in space, but I was enlightened to the “less is more” concept. This led me to remove everything besides Skrillex. I then added stars centered around the light speed theme from the Star Wars films. In doing so, I used an aluminum medium then layered Montana Spray Paint, which in turn created the blue aura that surrounds him. When I first saw the glow of blue shifting with the light, it was truly the first moment I knew that I would be an artist rest of my life. A milestone piece that will live on forever.
