Throughout my life, music has motivated me on a daily basis and is an essential part of my creative process. I was compelled to honor the history of music with a modern twist by creating my depiction of Beethoven.
I recently learned that he began to lose his hearing at age 28, and by age 44 he lost all sense of hearing. For this piece, my vision was to create a work of art as an homage to Beethoven’s ability to create before, during and after he began to lose his hearing.
The creative process led me to infuse a platinum vinyl record as his face and layered gold + silver dyed feathers that projected outward from behind the record. This new original painting is part of my multi-dimensional collection, and is my forth creation that features gold + silver dyed feathers.
