Eye of Midnight - 36”W x 48”H
Most of my works of art features vibrant colors, numerous layers and complex techniques. For this piece, I envisioned a minimalist style combined with darker tones. This led me to create a garden setting under the moonlight, which is typically portrayed during the day with bright hues. In order to build a slight depth, I used a modeling gel to bring oversized flowers off of the canvas and into the forefront. I then used varying metallic spray paints for effect. To top it off, I painted a fluorescent purple onto a classic ornate frame.
