Dior Dreams | 84x48
Artistic expressions of Marilyn Monroe have been done across a variety of concepts and platforms. I wanted to do something that portrayed a mysterious and intimate version of Marilyn behind the curtain, one without the fame and bright lights.
To accomplish this goal, I placed her body behind an authentic Dior scarf that features astrology artwork. The scarf allowed me to show her nervousness combined with happiness as a reflection of the star and person she was.
This embodies the fear of what other people think while allowing ourselves to be vulnerable in order to capture us in the most rare form.
